July 2011: "Wonderful place to stay with fantastic pool" "We’ve just returned from an 11-night stay here. The Pool House was a fantastic find for us. The pool is super – going from 1m deep in the shallow end to 2m in the deep end. Our 5-year-olds could stand in the shallow end and gained confidence from this.The house had everything we needed (3 bathrooms was useful with 7 of us) but we spent most of the time outside – eating breakfast and lunch in the shade of the trees. There’s even a big fig tree to plunder (yummy!). The bedroom with the bunkbeds is set lower than the rest of the house, down a few steps, but as a result is cooler - very nice in hot weather. Meant the kids slept especially well. It’s a very quiet location (we liked this!)  but within a few minutes’ drive of the local beaches, restaurant (Sa Sevada – pizza, pasta and fish were all good) and supermarket. Most evenings we drove into Alghero and enjoyed wandering around the old city and the harbour. It's breathtakingly beautiful. Food tip: Pizzaria Passarola – next to Jamaica Inn – has by far the best pizza we’ve had anywhere in Italy. It’s a quirky place - looks like a cheap fast food place, the food is served in pizza boxes with plastic cutlery and glasses –  but the pizzas really are fantastic. We went there 5 times, it really  was so good. Plus no cover charge! We had good contact with the owners  before and during the stay Overall we loved our stay at the Pool House the kids really loved it – especially the pool. They’d like to live  there!) If you get the chance, stay here – I’m sure you’ll like it as much as we did! "

“We found a light and airy, tastefully decorated, simply furnished and clean interior. The open plan kitchen and living area opens onto the patio and pool area, which must be lovely in the summer but we were there in November and the pool was covered up. As a keen swimmer I was impressed that the pool is bigger than the average domestic pool and would be big enough to actually swim in rather than just splashing about in. Maybe next time.
Being November, we also missed out on the barbeque and the sun loungers and took more interest in the heating which came by way of the air conditioning units in each of the main rooms, which were very efficient.

A lovely place, ideal for two but obviously good for up to six, well equipped and clean. Convenient but peaceful location. We would happily go back again.”

"Thanks very much for the use of your villa, we all had a great time and it's a lovely place. The girls (aged 7) especially loved the pool and achieved some "life landmarks" there.  They learnt how to snorkel and dive (not jump) into the pool.

You've done really well with the furnishings and the house well equipped.  Great to find plastics picnic plates, glasses etc. Especially liked the tuneful washing machine!! It's a very lovely house and we had a fantastic holiday there and came back very relaxed."
